The GST tax structure will comprise of the Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST), State Goods and Services Tax (SGST) and Integrated Goods and Service Tax (IGST). The four slab tiers of the GST tax structure will be 5 per cent, 12 per cent, 18 per cent and 28 per cent.
CGST: Under GST, CGST is a tax levied on Intra State supplies of both goods and services by the Central Government and will be governed by the CGST Act.
SGST: Under GST, SGST is a tax levied on Intra State supplies of both goods and services by the State Government and will be governed by the SGST Act.
The full form of IGST is Integrated Goods and Service Tax. UTGST means Union Territory Goods and Service Tax.
