You’ve probably seen Ajay Devgn’s Shaitaan. That was just a remake of the Gujarati film Vash. But here’s the thing—Vash is way darker, more brutal, gory, and suffocating for any parent to sit through.

And now, its second part, Vash Vivash: Level 2, is releasing in Hindi on August 27.

Yes, Shaitaan and Vash share the same theme: to defeat a devil, you have to become a bigger devil yourself. But Shaitaan feels like a rushed, cut-short, softened version—where the director cherry-picked scenes he liked and skipped the rest.

Where Shaitaan shows R. Madhavan as a loud, almost comical tantric villain and Ajay Devgn as a superhero dad with over-the-top theatrics, Vash keeps its climax grounded, raw, and terrifyingly real.

In Vash’s ending, Atharva (Ajay’s character in the remake) gets attacked by all the possessed girls—his hand literally bitten off, and in a shocking moment, he shoves scissors into his daughter’s ears so she can’t hear the villain’s chants, and cuts off the villain’s tongue so he can’t control anyone again. Moments like this? Any father would be left trembling.


Now in Vash Vivash: Level 2, a new sorcerer emerges—this time possessing an entire school of girls, commanding them to destroy the city, turn on their parents, and hunt down the original villain, Pratap Uncle.

Remember—this will be just as dark as the first Vash, which you can still find on Shemaroo if you want to experience it yourself. But whatever you do, don’t miss this masterpiece, Vash Vivash, when it hits theatres.
