PART 4/5: MICROGRID IN PARALLEL OPERATION MODES

In order to increase the deployment of greener energy sources, consumer’s demand must be better matched to power supply, even when renewable power sources are not available.

The advantage of a Microgrid is that it can operate both as an isolated system, disconnected from the main grid, as well as connected to the main grid. This allows, among other things, for the main grid to function as a backup when the Microgrid is connected to the main grid.

In this video, we show you how two synchronous generators can create a microgrid and what are the possible operating modes for this configuration.
