Coined as the shortest railway in the world, The Angels Flight Railway trickles up and down Bunker Hill in Downtown Los Angeles, carrying thousands of passengers each year up the 298 foot hill, with an approximate 33-percent grade. This was my first time seeing the railway in action, so it was an experience in itself. Angels Flight is a funicular railway, so when one goes up, one comes down in perfect unison, and they meet in the middle. The ride is a bit bumpy, but at just a quarter a ride, it remains one of Los Angeles' historic attractions.
