Dorothy Day: a Rebel in Paradise

Dorothy Day is one of the most influential American figures of the 20th century. Through the Catholic Worker Movement, a collection of communities dedicated to hospitality and service to the poorest, which she co-founded, she fought all her life against exclusion, poverty, social and racial injustice. In a period marked by numerous world conflicts, she took a radical stand in favour of pacifism. She combined a life of prayer, inspired by the Bible and the saints, with a life of action at the heart of the social struggles of her time. With her, let us embrace this dynamic in the footsteps of Christ: "what we want to do is change the world".
