Political Tensions Flare Ahead of Assam By-polls: BJP, Congress Clash in Samagur as Rallies Converge

A scuffle broke out between BJP and Congress workers as rallies of both parties passed by in the Samaguri seat. Supporters of BJP candidate Diplu Ranjan Sarma and Congress candidate Tanzil Hussain got into a scuffle as they passed by each other. Thankfully, police presence at the spot prevented the scuffle from spiralling out of control. BJP workers alleged that Congress party workers had made objectionable comments on BJP women workers present at the rally which led to the fight.
