Me and Meg have finally returned and I look forward to sharing our new adventures and advice in woodland photography. I'm still building up my energy, so I've eased in gently with a very short wander in a challenging location. It's easy to feel pressurised into splashing out on expensive trips to go bigger and better, but after all these years I still love a simple local wander in whatever the weather has to offer. No matter what happens photographically, it's time well spent and this is often how my very best work begins. Tricky conditions in a new location is always a challenge but one I love because it's not necessarily about the images I make that day, but the experience of the unknown and the anticipation of what's to come. You can't beat it.
