biodiverse/earth

Описание к видео biodiverse/earth

Take an audio-visual exploration of human impact on the forests of Costa Rica. Jenna Lawson is working to save the endangered spider monkey. Taking her real-life forest recordings, art collective super/collider have created an immersive journey from untouched biodiverse forests, to the haunting silence of disturbed plantations. biodiverse/earth conveys the beauty in the diversity of life and what we lose when we destroy these incredible ecosystems. Accompanying the track is a program that draws a ring whenever a sound reaches a certain level. The colours of the ring are specific to each species' audio fingerprint. The rings then diffractively interact with each other, creating a ripple-like effect. You can read more about Jenna’s work using soundscapes to map biodiversity loss and her collaboration with super/collider
