Doug Kimmelman, Executive Chairman & Founder, ECP, spoke on the evolving electricity demand landscape during the panel “Electrification: critical innovations for our future energy systems” at the ADIPEC Strategic Conference.

“Data centres account for about 2% of total power generation capacity in the U.S., about 25GW. Expectations are that this could rise to 10%, adding another 100GW for data centres, for AI. On top of that, there are many other sources of demand, including 200 industrial manufacturing facilities currently under construction in the U.S., which are very electricity intensive.”
