200 years of Dimasa Kachari history from 1948 to 2021.

The role that they played during the Second World War period.

JB Hagjer refused to allow the British Government to form a labour Force during war times from the Dimasa community.

Sonaram Thaosen in the wake of the freedom struggle establishes one educational institution at Mupa Railway Station.

Desendao Hojai became the General Secretary of the North Cachar Hills Tribal Council and represented before the Gopinath Bordoloi Committee the demands of the Council. It was the first organized efforts of the Dimasa intelligentsia for the constitutional benefits of the Dimasa.

Post Independence, the northeastern part of India witness many changes in the boundary.

1951: A new administrative district was constituted as United Mikir and North-Cachar Hills district. The new district was formally created on 17 November 1951.

1952: In 1952 a new district 'United Mikir and North Cachar Hills' was created.

1954:
* In June 16, 1954, the Executive Members of Garo Hills, Lushai Hills, Khasi and Jayantia Hills and North Cachar Hills assembled in Shillong, to discuss the demand for a separate hill state and amendment of the Sixth Schedule.
* submit memorandum to the State Re­organization Commission, demanding a Hill State.

1960: Captain Williamson Sangma called for a Conference of all leaders of political parties in June 1960. The Conference resolved to form the AH Party Hill Leaders Conference
* A.P.H.L.C met Prime Minister of India on 24 November 1960. However, the Prime Minister discarded their demand for separate State on financial ground.

1963: A.P.H.L.C delegates met Prime Minister of India on 10 June 1963. Nehru Plan - a new scheme of administrative set-up was is presented.

1964: The All Party Hill Leaders Conference finally accepted the Prime Minister’s offer on 17 April 1964 and requested him to proceed with appointment of the Commission.

1966:
*A.P.H.L.C had put the view that the Commission adopted a partisan attitude in favour o f the State Government.
* The A.P.H.L.C directed its Council of Action to formulate adequate policies for launching a non-violent Satyagraha movement before the last part of June 1966

1967:
* PM Indira Gandhi invited the A.P.H.LC leadership for discussion at Delhi on 17 January 1967
* Mehta Committee was constituted with the representatives of various political parties of plains and A. P. H. L. C.

1968: Government of India announced its plan for reorganisation of the Assam on 11 September 1968.

1969: A.P.H.L.C accepted the plan of Government of India on 28 January 1969. They appealed to the two District Councils, the Mikir Hills and North Cachar Hills, to join the Autonomous State of Meghalaya.

1970: the North Cachar Hills sub-division was declared as the full fledged district.

1972: In 1972 Dimasa Jalairaoni Hosom was formed at Haflong to protect and promote the cultural identity of the Dimasa.

1973:
* A Joint Conference of the leaders of Mikir and North Cachar Hills District Council was held on 18.2.73
* leaders of the Action Committee thereafter met Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi on 9.7.73 and submitted the memorandum demanding a Separate State comprising of the Mikir Hills, North Cachar Hills and the contiguous tribal areas of Assam.

1974: Dimasa Sanskriti Parishad was formed in 1974 at Silchar in Cachar District.
1975: Karbi Anglong District Dimasa Association’ at Diphu with a view to focus on various cultural activities.

1980: at Cachar Nikhil Hairambo Barman Samiti is formed.

1995: signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the State Government of Assam, Government of India and the Autonomous State Demand Committee, in 1995.

1997: The Chief Minister of Assam officially declared and handed over 30 departments to Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council at Diphu and North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council at Haflong on 12 January and 13 January 1997 respectively.

1999 : Dimasa Lairidem Mel (Dimasa Literary Society) was formed in

2003: Hmar-Dimasa clash of 2003

2005: the Karbi and Dimasa people clash

2021 :
* Judima given GI tag.
* Vistadome train from Guwahati to New Haflong.
