3D Control & Picking Solution is the best answer to the need for flexibility in loading tool machines and assembly systems. The 3D CPS is able to recognize parts randomly disposed in a bin and to drive a robot to pick them up.

3D CPS is an innovative robot guidance system for the bin-picking. It has been conceived as an embedded solution allowing any robotic systems to pick parts arranged at random in a bin. This solution increases the flexibility of anthropomorphic robots by avoiding the use of specific mechanical devices for their feeding.

3D CPS integrates a laser scanner and an on-board intelligence, so being able to perform all the 3D measurement and analysis tasks needed to estimate the poses of the parts present in the bin and to drive the robot to pick them up. A special care was devoted to achieve very high reliability and versatility. In fact, the system can be integrated in any robotic cell, thanks to the use of an universal open TCP/IP communication protocol.

The software for the part recognition is based on a robust 3D pattern matching algorithm. Providing to the system the cell geometry, the robot model and the gripper CAD model, the 3D CPS is able to automatically generate the picking trajectory free of collisions.
