Picot-Edge Bind-Off: A Knittycat's Knits Technique

Описание к видео Picot-Edge Bind-Off: A Knittycat's Knits Technique

Video tutorial on how to create a picot edge when binding/casting off stitches. This technique of binding off creates a beautiful edge with tiny peaks (picots) along the edge; these can be placed on each stitch as you bind off or on alternate stitches (or spaced even further apart).

To bind off each stitch using the picot bind-off technique:
Step 1: Cast on 2 stitches using the knitted cast on method.
Step 2: Knit the first st. Then knit the next st and pass the first knit stitch over the second knit stitch (like you would in a regular bind off); repeat this 2 more times on the next 2 stitches on the needle. Then, transfer the stitch from the right needle back onto the left needle (at this point, you will have cast off 1 stitch, making 1 picot in the process).
Repeat Steps 1 & 2 on all the remaining stitches to create a picot on each stitch as you bind off.

To add a space between the picots as you bind off, then at Step 2, after you have repeated the knit/pass stitch over process 3 times, do not transfer the stitch back to the left needle. Instead, knit the next stitch and then pass over the first stitch on right needle over the second stitch (like doing a regular bind off). Then transfer the stitch back to the left needle and do Steps 1 & 2 above to create a picot bind off for the next stitch. If you wish to add more than just one space between the picots, then bind off as many stitches doing a regular bind off.
