New Portal North Bridge Girders

Since the Old Turnabout Portal North Bridge, it carries around 450 Amtrak and NJ Transit trains per a day. When being opened to let the boats pass. But, the bridge didn’t closed properly, it caused delays for Amtrak and NJ Transit around 2,000 hours between 2014 to 2018. Replacement is on its way. Thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (signed by President Biden), we’re getting on track. The Brand New Portal North is still in progress to be completed 2027. The new bridge will be up to 50 ft to avoid delays for both NJ Transit and Amtrak, and for new maximum speed will be up to 90 MPH once it will be completed.

Now, I saw the first few Girders were in place. At Kearny, Secaucus, and over the river.
