Skwatta Kamp Visits The SA Hip-Hop Museum

Описание к видео Skwatta Kamp Visits The SA Hip-Hop Museum

The Hip-Hop Museum is situated in Newtown and was created to document the history of South African Hip-Hop. Every era in music has its own contributors, people who continue the race. Skwatta Kamp played their role in commercialising Hip-Hop in South Africa, with milestones like being one of the first hip-hop entities to go Gold, or winning a SAMA during a time where Hip-Hop wasn't accepted. Skwatta changed the game and shifted the culture forward, paving the way for other great individuals and groups to step up. Recently Skwatta Kamp released an album titled, 'SVN' which is their seventh and final album. The album comes 13 years after their sixth one.

The walk through at the 'SA HIP-HOP MUSEUM' is a walk down memory lane, the group discuss the emergence of hip-hop from legendary Rae group, 'POC' - Prophets of The City throughout the 90s, 2000s and 2010s.
