The National Museum of Anthropology houses the archaeological artifacts and ethnological collections including material culture from different ethnolinguistic groups in the country. These collections tell about our cultural heritage which gives us deep sense of pride in our identity as Filipino people.

Formerly known as the Museum of the Filipino People, the National Museum of Anthropology was first opened to the public in 1998 under the auspices of former President Fidel V. Ramos. It was also in this year where the National Museum was established as an independent institution by the virtue of R.A. 8492 or the National Museum Act of 1998. The building was first occupied by the Department of Finance.

Currently, there are 15 permanent galleries and 2 temporary exhibits we have in the building.
