The Korovina incident aka Khamar Daban Disaster occurred on August the 5th 1993. Today it is often referred as the second dylatov pass incident and with only one person living to tell the tale its easy to see why. 7 Hikers entered the mountains with six of them dying.

According to Valya after the group set off that morning things took a terrifying turn for the worse. At the back of the group, Aleksandah let out a horrific scream. The group turned around to see him, what they saw scarred Valya for life. He was bleeding from his eyes, ears and mouth. He began shaking, collapsed to the floor and became unconscious. Korovina comforted him and told the rest of the group to go on. They didn’t get far before they heard another scream, this time from Korovina. The group turned to look where they saw their leader gushing blood from her eyes and nose while foaming at the mouth. She shook violently before falling on top of Aleksander. Next was Tatyana, she suffered the same before bashing her own head onto a rock before dying. Whilst running away Viktoryia and Timur collapsed next. It was now only valya and Dennis left. The two ran for help, terrified at what they had just witnessed. Sadly as they were running, Dennis began to bleed from his mouth and collapsed. Valentina lived to tell the tale.
