In today’s video, I’m breaking down The End of Highguard: Why It’s Shutting Down and why this shutdown happened so fast. If you’ve been following Highguard, the news is brutal: developer Wildlight announced the game will permanently shut down on March 12, 2026, less than two months after launch. The studio said more than 2 million players tried the game, but it ultimately could not maintain a sustainable player base. Wildlight also said one final update is planned before servers go offline, including a new character, new weapon, account level progression, and skill trees.
