Have you ever been stopped from entering a place of worship for something as unexpected ? Well, that’s exactly what happened to me at the magnificent Church of Jesus Christ Our Savior in Moscow! In this video, I take you on a journey to one of Russia’s most iconic landmarks—but there’s a twist you won’t see coming! 😱

Built between 1994 and 2000 on the site of the original church destroyed by Stalin in 1931, the Church of Jesus Christ Our Saviour is a symbol of Russia’s spiritual rebirth. This stunning cathedral, which towers at 103 meters high, is one of the largest Orthodox churches in the world. Did you know that the entire structure is made of white marble, with its golden dome visible from miles around? The church’s intricate murals, majestic chandeliers, and over-the-top beauty will leave you in awe.

But the real mystery is why I was turned away at the gates—find out what happened and see the breathtaking views of Moscow from the church’s grounds. And trust me, the backstory behind this place is just as dramatic as its architectural grandeur! 🏰

Fun facts:
✨ The original Church of Christ the Savior was built in the 19th century, commissioned by Tsar Alexander I in gratitude for Russia’s victory over Napoleon.
✨ The Soviet regime demolished the original church to make room for a massive statue of Lenin, but it was eventually rebuilt in the post-Soviet era to restore Russia’s religious identity.
✨ The cathedral's main altar is dedicated to the Holy Trinity, and the interior boasts over 100,000 square feet of marble, mosaics, and gold leaf.
