This is a 14-minute, excerpted version of Janis Brenner's full-length, multi-award-winning dance-opera-play and comic drama, "Inheritance: A Litany." Premiered in 2018 at the United Solo Theatre Festival at Theatre Row in NYC, the work was invited back to open the festival in 2019, and toured in the US. It has just returned to performances and touring after nearly two pandemic years. "Inheritance: A Litany" has received Best Performance, Best Composer (Jerome Begin), Best Lighting (Mitchell Bogard), and the 2019 Critics' Choice Award from All About Solo online publication in NYC. It honors the parent/child relationship and examines complicated, often fraught yet universal of how we become who were are.
