Virgin Media O2 - The Connected Playground

The Connected Playground from Virgin Media O2 tasks children with creating their own musical track by interacting with modified apparatus such as swings, slides and climbing frames which have been fitted with sensors, pressure pads and infrared beams to create an interactive environment which reacts in real time to a child’s movement. It was inspired by new research into parents’ concerns that their children aren’t getting enough stimulation through outdoor play and how more tech should be incorporated into public playgrounds.
