How To Activate/Deactivate Factory Car Alarm on Subaru Outback Impreza Legacy 05-19

If you bought your car and it didn't come with a key fob, you've probably dealt with an alarm going off when opening your car either early in the mornings or late at night.

This is how you disable that alarm. Here are the steps:

1. Sit in the driver's side seat and make sure all doors/hood/trunk are closed.
2. Turn the ignition to the on position.
3. While holding down the unlock button open the door WITHIN 1 SECOND. This has to be done within a second. After you open the door, continue to hold down the unlock button for around 10 seconds.

After about 10 seconds the horn should honk twice, and in the odometer/trip meter screen, it should display one of the following:

AL oF (meaning the alarm was disabled and the alarm is now off)
AL oN (meaning the alarm was enabled and the alarm is now on)

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. This should work with any Subaru from 2005 thru 2011. I haven't tested it on any of the newer ones and haven't tested it on every single model and year combination, but I know it works for most. Let me know if it doesn't.
