The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a sequel to Breath of the Wild, set in a transformed Hyrule where vast landmasses float in the sky, known as Sky Islands.
The game's story centers on Princess Zelda, who is transported to the distant past after being pulled from deep below Hyrule Castle, where she meets the kingdom's first rulers, King Rauru and Queen Sonia, and begins to train her time-manipulating powers.
Link, her chosen knight, awakens on a Sky Island after being pulled into the heavens, and must journey across the surface, sky, and depths of Hyrule to uncover the truth behind Zelda's disappearance and defeat the ancient evil Ganondorf, who has been imprisoned beneath the castle for thousands of years.
