Though best-known from the 1947 revival of Ted Weems' two old recordings from 1933    • 1947 HITS ARCHIVE: Heartaches - Ted W...   and 1938    • 1947 HITS ARCHIVE: Heartaches - Ted W...   , and later from the 1961 doo-wop treatment by The Marcels    • 1961 HITS ARCHIVE: Heartaches - Marcels   , “Heartaches” had been a moderately successful ballad when it first appeared on the scene in 1931. Renard’s was the first of several dance band recordings of it released that year.

The original 78rpm single was issued on Brunswick 6033 - Heartaches (Klenner-Hoffman) by Jacques Renard & his Orchestra, vocal by Chester Gaylord, recorded in NYC January 18, 1931
