How to set a mole trap - spring loaded or spike style mole trap

Описание к видео How to set a mole trap - spring loaded or spike style mole trap

Terry Bohl demonstrates how to successfully use and set a spring loaded, spike style mole trap.

1. One day before setting your trap, flatten all raised mole tunnels in your yard. The following day, inspect the flattened mole tunnels and identify which mole tunnels have raised back up again. The raised tunnels will be ACTIVE and you will want to set your trap(s) ONLY on active tunnels.

2. Before setting the mole trap, first flatten down a small section (only as wide as your foot) across the active mole tunnel, effectively blocking the mole tunnel but leaving the rest of the tunnel raised.

3. Push the mole trap down so that the two trap prongs (not the sharper spikes) straddle the newly flattened section of active mole tunnel. While you do this - pull upwards and push downwards on the trap spring handle. This will allow the sharp spikes to become as friction free as possible, insuring that the sharp spikes can travel freely and as deep as possible. If there is a rock or obstruction in the ground, you will notice it during this step. Try another section of the same tunnel, if the obstruction is not easy to clear.

4. Push the mole trap down until the trap trigger "pan" is even with the flattened ground. Carefully make sure the trap spring is pulled high enough so that the trigger pan can set itself with the trigger arm. Your mole trap is now set. The following day inspect your trap(s).
