Within four hundred years of history, give or take, Britain's railway history is littered with odd and curious stories. Many railway companies, starting with the Great Western Railway, built halts as a cheap and basic railway facilitiy to serve remote locations. On the four miles of railway built by the Great Yarmouth and Stalham Light Railway, seven such halts were built by the MIdland and Great Northern Railway to boost revenues generated by summer holiday traffic in the area.
