👉7 Deadly Bar Chord Mistakes FREE PDF → https://www.jonmaclennan.com/7mistakes

If you’ve ever seen a band play live, or played in a band, or with some jamming buddies… you may have noticed there is ONE THING guitarist do 99% of the time.

And that is...

Strut around on stage looking cool and pickup groupies.

Well, besides that what they really do is…

Mainly play rhythm.

As great as it is to step into the spotlight and rip a solo on guitar. When it comes to what guitarist actually do 99% of the time is songs, on stage, or with their jamming buddies. They are holding down the groove and rhythm.
This doesn’t mean it’s boring.

In fact, the best guitarist know how to make rhythm interesting. Just take a listen to the first 30 seconds or so of Jimi Hendrix’s “Little Wing”. You’ll hear what I’m talking about.

But a key skill every guitarist must have to do this is effortless bar technique. For example, I once had a student who was practicing with some friends for about a year. He even played 2 gigs. He told me his main job in the band was to play acoustic rhythm. Bar chords were essential for him to pull this off.

On top of that, bar chords unfold into things like the CAGED System, and knowing chords and scales up and down the neck.
Once you understand the theory behind bar chords, you can see how it's all connected.

So I’ve got a question for you…
How are your bar chords?

Are you playing them in the most relaxed and pain-free way, anywhere on the neck? Are they consistent? Do they ring true -- even on acoustic?

If bar chords are giving you all kinds of aches and pains, and you’ve haven’t yet discovered how to play them effortlessly yet, go here: https://www.jonmaclennan.com/7mistakes
