2003 Hardtail Vstar 1100 (First ever?) pt.1

*PLEASE READ FIRST *

I have always wanted to do this so I finally grew a pair and got it done lol. So all the cutting is pretty standard, I cut off the tube at the front just after it bends about 4 inches so that I can fit a tube in there and get a nice plug weld, after that I cut in the back just before the hole where the (driveshaft?) connects to, everything I cut in between here was just to clear up room, eventually I will have to cut more off the swing arm and suspension pieces. The tube I got was DOM 1 inch OD with a .120 wall thickness I ordered 6ft worth and it was from an online store called metal depot. It only took about 4 days to get here so not bad. After that I had to find a shop that was near me that can bend such strong metal and did a 25 degree bend, the guy was actually really cool and hooked it up for free. As far as the welding goes the guy I had come out used a mig machine and made a quarter inch hole which seemed too big but he was the pro, after that he welded onto the plate all around and all around where the tube slipped in, I also forgot to mention that I made my own seals for the end of the tube with 11 gauge steel I believe. If i forgot to mention anything in here just let me know.
