Cruel Angel’s Thesis is the theme song of Neon Genesis Evangelion, an apocalyptic anime, and a Japanese karaoke classic performed by Yoko Takahashi. The story centers on Shinji, a teenage boy who is recruited by his father into the organization NERV to pilot a giant bio-machine mecha called an Evangelion in combat against monstrous beings known as Angels. The song upbeat tunes and lyrics’s acts like a pep-talk to the protagonist, where he is being told that not only can he do this, he has to accept his fate for the good for all humanity.
