Since I'm re-designing my website right now I wanted to share some mistakes I made and the 3 key points that I have learned from them.

I took the opportunity of the lockdown to redesign my website.
And I wanted to share the 3 basic tips that I believe are very important when it comes to web design, those are the things that I have found out until now, so if you have more tips share them in the comments.
The first rule is to make it mobile-friendly, it's kind of obvious but even if that's the case we sometimes don't want to follow this rule.
The issue is that we design something to look good on the desktop and then we get frustrated because 90% of people are visiting the website through mobile.
So, don't try to fight how people are doing things, instead embrace it and create for those people first.
If you did also find the time to work on your website during the quarantine let me know in the comments below I would love to out check it out.
When I made my first personal website at first and by mistake, I didn't make it for the right people. I was thinking about how other designers will react or critique it. So, basically, I was making a website for other designers to see. It was meant to be visited by potential clients, so I changed it. If a client asks for a design, one of the first questions will be who the audience is, who are we designing for, what is the target group?
It's easy to forget the most basic principles when it comes to design something for ourselves. So, before you start designing, ask yourself what is the purpose of your website? Who do you want to reach and interact with? Is it for you to be able to reach potential clients? To develop more authority in your industry? Maybe elevate your career so you can work for a company that you admire?
The third rule, don't be a perfectionist. I did this with my current website I had everything designs except for some small details and pages. And it took forever to launch it because I wanted to finish all of those things first, things that maybe 5% of people that visited my website have noticed.
Your website is a living thing and because it's your personal website not for a client, you have the advantage to change it whenever you want. It's not a project that needs to be printed and if you made a mistake you cannot change it afterward. If you see that people are not using it the way that you thought they will, you can change it. You add and remove things all the time, that's the beauty of it. To recap, start by finding out which is your audience, design with them in mind, what they need, how would they visit and use that website, and finally launch it even if it's not completely ready and continue working on it, afterward.
I hope that those tips will help you and remember that the mistakes that you made in the past, are your guide for the future. 🙂

Welcome to my channel! I'm Chris Ellinas and for the past year, I was struggling with myself if I should start this or not. I'm an introvert by nature, so it was really difficult for me but here it is and I hope that it helps you or at least inspires you. 😊
One of my goals is to specialize, in one of the many fields that the design business offers. And learn skills outside of the design field, like running a business, so one day, I could start my own.
I will try my best to upload at least once a week. The kind of videos that I will upload will be the Design Vlog, where I will talk about business, design, clients, money, how to charge, How to start, working as a remote designer, how to learn graphic design, solving problems, working from home, freelancer, solopreneur, etc.
Fast in Five, where I share fast-paced tutorials, tips, and tricks around design, video, business, and equipment, in 5 minutes or less.
Speed Art, Speedpaint, with graphic design projects, illustrations, in a very fast-paced. And a Podcast where I invite a different like-minded individual in every episode to have an interesting conversation.
If you want to grow with me then subscribe and hit that notification bell!
