Basics you need to know about CMAT?
“CMAT” Full Form of CMAT in Nepal is "Central Management Admission Test". It is known as CMAT entrance exam, and it is a national level entrance examination in Nepal annually conducted by the Faculty of Management of Tribhuvan University (TU). The examination is generally held in the month of August / September, but due to pandemic situation and delayed in Grade XII Exams, this year CMAT Exam will be held after the announcement of the Grade XII result, possibly in the month of October/ November. This exam is mandatory for those students who wish to pursue the following subjects at Tribhuvan University.
• Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)
• Bachelor of Business Management (BBM)
• Bachelor of Information Management (BIM)
• Bachelor of Public Administration (BPA)
• Bachelor in Travel and Tourism Management (BTTM)
• Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHM)
• Bachelor of Mountaineering Studies (BMS)
• Bachelor of Business Administration- Finance PROGRAMME (BBA-Fin)

CENTRAL MANAGEMENT ADMISSION TEST (CMAT) is a mandatory process to get admission in BBA / BBM / BIM / BPA / BTTM / BHM / BMS / BBA Finance PROGRAMME. CMAT is a highly competitive exam which tests the candidate’s aptitude with 100 objective type questions on weightage of 1 mark each i.e., 100 multiple Choice questions of 100 questions with 4 options each, 100 Marks, a separate answer sheet is provided to select the answer which is checked by the MICR. The results appear within the week of the examination held, to be able to qualify for bachelor’s level programs in Management discipline. CMAT exams are it is based on SAT format, questions are asked to find the knowledge and aptitude of the examinee in verbal abilities, quantitative ability, logical reasoning, and general awareness.

Every year, the CMAT exam forms are available around at end of Shrawan in all college affiliated to Tribhuvan University like Shanker Dev Campus, Nepal Commerce Campus, etc. The exam forms are also available on the website of Faculty of Management, TU (https://tudoms.org/). The exams are probably after the results of the +2 examination. All students must score at least 40 Marks out of 100 to get enrolled in the mentioned courses. CMAT is the minimum criteria to get admission on Tribhuvan University affiliated colleges. As per College criteria, the past academic performance, CMAT score, interview will be monitored by the admission committee and then decide the candidates shortlisted in the merit list.

ELIGIBILITY
According to the Faculty of Management, Tribhuvan University to participate in the CMAT examination students must have secured a minimum of ‘C’ Grade in all the subjects of 11 and 12, or , 1.8 CGPA (Overall) or second division marks in 10+2.

ADMISSION CRITERIA
Examination Mode: CMAT entrance exam consists of both written exam and interview.
Written Exam: CMAT exam consists of altogether one hundred (100) objective questions containing twenty (25) questions in each section with a total weight of 100 marks to be solved 90 minutes. To qualify for the CMAT examinations a students must secure at least 40%.
Interview: Applicants securing above cut off point marks in the CMAT will be short-listed. Then the shortlisted candidates will be interviewed and selected for admission.
Merit List: Admissions will be strictly based on merit list.
60% of marks secured in the CMAT Entrance examination;
30% of marks secured in percentage in plus two or equivalent;
10% Interview.
