Presenting the second part of the Poorva Express' journey from New Delhi to Kolkata, covering the stretch between Mughal Sarai and Howrah. The video was taken back when only one rake of the Poorva was an LHB rake, with the dates on which the LHB rake would be departing from Howrah posted in advance in the major newspapers. The train also had a full First AC coach back then and only one unreserved coach.

On this day, we progress into the Grand Chord delayed by about an hour and the Poorva is uncharacteristically subdued till Gaya. A number of late night departures from Howrah cross us between Mughal Sarai and Dehri-on-Sone. The impending monsoons show their effect on the Sone as its channels are unusually filled with clear water with a wonderful blue sky for company. The hills of Rohtas are also visible in the distance.

At Gaya, we have a parallel entry with a Mughal Sarai WAM4 hauled passenger with both trains honking like crazy to ensure people move out of the tracks. Post Gaya, the Poorva shows its true qualities and races towards Jharkhand. We cross into Jharkhand across the picturesque Gurpa-Gujhandi ghats and are lucky to witness the opening of the Koderma-Tilaiya line to passenger traffic.

Post Koderma, there is a sharp shower and the Mughal Sarai WAP4 hauling the Poorva Express blasts through it, honking away to glory. The monsoon showers present a lovely view of the Parasnath hills, with the peak shrouded by clouds.

As we enter Bengal post Asansol, we are met with the afternoon departures from Howrah and closer to home, the Howrah and Sealdah Rajdhanis absolutely fly past enroute New Delhi.
