Joe Clark -"It is what it is" -THE WAY HOME video series - PART 3/5

This is personally one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written. There comes a point in life where things seem to get real. Once we get to a certain age where we aren’t as free as we once were and life begins to hand us struggles and realities we weren’t aware of before. I wrote this song at a low point in my life, at a time I didn’t feel like fighting anymore and had came to a point of tolerance with my troubles. Unsure of where I belonged and where my home truly was. I didn’t want to question the struggles anymore, just live with what I’ve been handed, and accept that it is just a part of life, therefore “it is what it is”. Although a difficult mindset to overcome, I believe in the long run it builds strength and callous to overcome battles that would otherwise overwhelm us to the point of no return. I’m so thankful to have music to release these emotions in a healthy way, forever grateful.
