In this Episode of Pure Fix TV Amanda breaks down what bikes are made of and how the differences in materials relate to the experience of the rider.

Hi-Ten Steel: High Tensile steel is what many bikes are made of, including the Pure Fix Original Series, because it is both durable as well as affordable. When well cared for steel can last a very long time.

Chromoly: Chromoly is a steel alloy and is stronger and thinner than Hi-Ten steel, making it lighter. The Pure Fix Premier Series of bikes are made from chromoly.

Aluminum: Aluminum is lighter and stiffer than a steel frame and is super responsive. The Pure Fix Keirin Track bikes are aluminum - making them super light and fast!

Carbon Fiber: The lightest and strongest of all the bike materials on our list, carbon fiber is also the most expensive. A good way to shave weight off your bike is by adding a carbon fiber fork.
