Villagers and soldiers in Nangarhar Province searched through rubble after Pakistani strikes that the Taliban said killed and injured dozens, including women and children. Pakistan said it carried out “intelligence-based” strikes on seven militant camps along the border, targeting the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan and Islamic State Khorasan Province, after blaming recent suicide bombings — including attacks during Ramadan — on fighters allegedly operating from Afghan soil.
