Peace is not the absence of war but the result of social justice. Thus, the League of Filipino Students - Xavier University (LFS-XU) Chapter strongly supports the ongoing Peace Talks between the Government of the Philippines and the National Democratic Front of the Philippines.

The peace process is now at its second substantive agenda which is the Comprehensive Agreement on Socio-Economic Reforms (CASER)-- the "heart and soul" of the peace talks. CASER will deal with genuine land reform, national industrialization and expanded social services which will benefit the majority of the Filipino people. By addressing the root causes of the armed conflict, just and lasting peace is definitely within reach.
