It’s been about a month since Jedi survivor came out, this is the most fun i've had with a game for a long time, best game i've played on ps5 so far, I looked forward to it for a long time and it might be my game of the year, the only other game I’m anticipating like this is Spider-Man 2

it's bigger and better than jedi fallen order and i mean it in the best way when i say it makes the previous game obsolete. it's an all around improvement on every mechanic. i do think fallen order has a stronger story but being a padawan origin story it has alot going for it. jedi survivor still has amazing story moments especially with it’s darker tone

the video is a combination of story mode and endgame footage when my skill trees had advanced

Using the force in combos isnt too expensive as it refills quickly, combining force powers with saber combos really makes you feel like a jedi Master

i dabbled with all the styles in the early game but found my rhythm with most of the story with the crossguard and blaster stance. i returned to the double blade and dual wield in the endgame, i didn't spend too much time with the single stance but appreciate its swift mobility, i may give it more attention in new game plus/endgame.

i loved the crossguard so much i just refer to it as the kylo ren stance. it's so much raw power, you can just pretty much be stationary and dish out a lot of damage, it’s defence is nice too. you get that brutal aggressive ruthless combat

the dual wield and double-sided blade combo is quite super satisfying and precise almost like a dance in some cases. despite how much i love the kylo stance my first max level stance was the darth maul (double-sided blade). it has so much utility and effectiveness, it was the dark horse. while i dont necessarily think it's the most exciting it might be the most useful.

the dual wield was fun too, again with the precision they really punish you for taking damage. however being able to animation cancel is a game changer. this makes speed it unique selling point, also with the perfect parry also rewards for anticipation, there’s a perfect sight which is used dodging I didn’t use it much but you do get a trophy for it. I feel precision evade was easier to pull of in this than fallen order

lastly blaster was alot of fun too, it was unorthodox and the saber form felt reminiscent of count dooku. using the stance felt really rogue/renegade vibe and cal was not necessarily a normal jedi but a grey jedi

the last stance i want to talk about is the dark side stance/rage mode, this comes late in the game and changes your slow ability. the moveset is aggressive and interesting as it makes tweaks and you're not told whats changed just have to figure it out. it's mystery is shrouded in the dark...(side lol). I think it would have been cool to have more brutal finishers in the rage mode that are more brutal than the usual cal

i think that is a nice touch from respawn the developers. you really get the point from them that they are star wars fans too and get fun moments that fans will appreciate. one of them for me was dagan gera make his kyber crystal bleed.

Another is how the game links in well with the Disney plus obi wan kenobi series, acknowledging the hidden path

The environmental variety was great in this and hard to pick a favourite area, phon qi caverns stands out as it feels a bit like an endgame dungeon

the hardest boss for me in the story was rayvis, when i beat him was actually exhausted and had to get some rest,

i thought the gameplay change to use cere junda was done brilliantly and make me think of god of war ragnarok and how some people werent happy with the atreus/loki sections. i think for the jedi series it shows it could expand more and other characters be introduced gameplay wise.

i loved the customization options as well i was always trying new things, hard to pick a favourite but really enjoy the bracca poncho, tactical, exile, Jedi robes, wanderer, ISB uniform… I really hope this comes back in a black colour-way as the silhouette is very kylo ren-ish in episode 8 the last Jedi

My favourite lightsaber colours are indigo, cyan, blue, orange, red will be in there too after new game plus

Best hair styles: windswept, bald, hawk any of these paired with a moustache

i played on graphics mode but will try performance mode further down the line
