Notes: the Siege of Sidney Street took place on the 3rd of January 1911 after police learned of the hiding place (100 Sidney Street) of some of the anarchists implicated in the earlier murder of three policemen in Houndsditch. The two men in the house were both killed. Winston Churchill was then Home Secretary and was much criticised for being present. Alternative Spelling for search purposes: Sydney Street.
