“Toxic relationships come from a lack of boundaries… I’ve been in a sexless marriage and I understand how important it is to have healthy relationships. People in toxic relationships have no sense of self and a high fear of abandonment, thus willing to sacrifice their needs just to be in that relationship. But what they don’t realise is that in such relationships, the need to feel loved and the need to feel valued are compromised…”

Being in a sexless marriage with little to no awareness and support around intimacy and sexuality, Pallavi Barnwal decided to take matters into her own hands. Cut to today, Coach Pallavi Barnwal is a sex educator, imparting much-needed knowledge to her Instagram family of more than 200k people!

As a single mom, however, pivoting into a new journey, that of a sex educator, after a decade of being a management consultant, was not the smoothest. For one, taboos about sex don’t make it easier to talk about it, and if a woman decides to talk about it, god help her!

But Pallavi believed in her cause, knowing that as a woman, navigating pleasure is tricky, especially when there’s so little information available. So she emerged as a trustworthy confidant, helping several people understand their bodies better. Be it queries about sex toys, or explaining how physical intimacy affects emotional intimacy and vice versa, there’s no topic Pallavi has not spoken about.

Stay tuned as she takes us on a ride, destigmatizing every taboo topic—be it porn, women’s pleasure, and new-age relationships; while also busting myths around sex!

We also spoke about:
. How she became a sexuality coach
. The desexualisation of mothers
. How women can be more communicative about their needs
. Making informed choices about sex toys
. Dealing with body image issues
. How healthy or unhealthy porn is for teenagers
. Destigmatizing taboos around sex & parents

About Humans of Bombay –
Humans of Bombay is a movement that started 9 years ago. We believe that every person has a story to tell and we want to help them tell these stories. In these years we’ve published stories across genres – stories of love, hope, faith, and courage. And through our storytelling, we’ve built an engaged community of over 5M!

Our idea is simple – to strike a chord with our community and catalog the beat of humanity, one story at a time.
