Michael Beasley signed with the Shanghai Sharks for the 2014-15 CBA Season. The team owned by retired Chinese superstar Yao Ming signed the highly talented forward in hopes that he would drive them to the playoffs. However injuries to his teammate Delonte West held back the team and they got off to a horrible start. After releasing West and signing Bernard James as his replacement the team started winning but it was not enough, as the team finished in 12th out of 20 teams. Overall a disappointing season with many individual bright spots for Michael Beasly including a 55 point, 16 rebound performance in a 1 point overtime loss to Tianjing, and a 59 point performance earning him the MVP of the 2015 CBA All-Star game.
