The Asymod 19" Rack Mount Console Hi-Fi Asymmetrical AM & eSSB.

The Asymod 19 inch Rack Mount Hi-Fi Console offers the radio operator all of the necessary functions to properly operate and monitor a Hi-Fi radio station. This unit provides wide band transmit and receive. Transmit up to 10 kHz on AM and receive at 6 kHz. The Monitor function offers two methods to monitor the TX audio. One, being the Demod function which allows the operator to hear the TX signal as it is radiated out of the antenna, and the other being the Line-In audio or hand mic audio, whichever is used. The Monitor Mix control allows the operator to balance the TX and RX audio to a comfortable level. The tone of the Demodulated signal can be adjusted using the Demodulator Tone control. The Monitor Level allows for overall volume control of both RX and TX audio signals. A speaker disable switch has been added to avoid feedback while monitoring the TX signal via the Demod or Line-In monitor functions.

This unit has a re-programmable Station ID that plays on the air when the PTT is pressed which can be enabled or disabled. Station IDs can be changed by pressing a momentary switch inside the unit while the audio is fed into the Station ID audio input jack. The Station ID unit has input and output level controls. The on air playback recorder offers 2 minutes of record time and has adjustable input and output levels. The usage of the playback and record buttons are push on, push off. These buttons don’t need to be pressed during the recording or playback periods, only to start and end.

This unit is also equipped with the VFO Whine (heterodyne effect) which can be enabled or disabled. It includes all of the standard Asymod functions, such as the carrier, modulation and asymmetry controls with an added trim control to limit the max carrier setting.

The TX RF Sampler, provides the operator easy connectivity for an oscilloscope to monitor the TX audio envelope and to analyze anything else in the TX RF. The TX RF Sampler output is located in the front panel BNC connector. No more need to have an RF coupler in line.

The Amplifier Keyer allows direct keying of the RF amplifier with great isolation, unlike RF sensing that drops between words in SSB, direct keying maintains the amplifiers keyed while the PTT is pressed. Contact rating is 220V, 2A. The PTT jack allows for connection of a PTT mouse or foot pedal.
