I don't fully explain how to get to Altus Plateau, but once you're there, getting to the Magma Wyrm in the Mt. Gelmir area is pretty easy. You can go the whole way on horseback and ride past all enemies. Just be careful of the little fire jets shooting out of the ground along the Seethwater River ravine. If you're heading to Wynham Ruins from the Grand Lift of Dectus, you can head northwest and meet up with the trail right where you need to head up the side of the cliff.
