Meera ( Nargis ) is a devotee who sings Bhajans in a temple. Vijay ( Dilip Kumar ) goes to the temple everyday to listen the bhajans , but he doesnt go inside the temple as he doesnt believe in God. Meera is in search of peace. She leaves the world behind in the search of peace. Before leaving the world behind, Meera lived happily with her family. She was called Surbhi. She was a very fun loving girl who believed in dreams. But one day all her dreams were shattered when she came to know that her marriage was fixed up with an old man. She left her home and became the pious Meera Devi from the fun loving Surbhi. Vijay loves Meera , but he is unaware of Meera's past ? Will Meera ever reciprocate Vijay's love ? Or will she remain unperturbed in her search of peace ?
