Communication is an ever-prevailing aspect of human life: over the thousands of years of evolution our species has undergone, we have developed as social creatures, and through our interactions we have been able to build society as we know it today. Oftentimes, however, our inability to convey meaning through speech places a limit on personal interactions. In this TEDx talk, we explore the unconventional – and rather surprising – idea that being non-verbal may, in fact, bring people closer together than traditional spoken communication. In a world that places an ever-increasing importance on maintaining artificial facades in conversation, oftentimes the best way to truly form meaningful connections with others is to eliminate the noise, for that which is real is given and received in silence. Gavir is an introverted student and massive nerd with a burning passion for physics, driven by curiosity and a desire to uncover the unknown, looking to help people understand the real power of communication and form meaningful, authentic connections that go beyond words.
