S Jaishankar's Big Attack On Congress Says 'Nehru Model Failed India' Correction Underway Post 2014


EAM S Jaishankar criticizes Nehru-era development and foreign policy models, says they 'failed the country'. Jaishankar made the comment at the launch of a book by former NITI Aayog vice chairman Arvind Panagariya.

We seek to correct that abroad, just as we try to reform the consequences of the model at home....For more than three decades now, there's actually been a national consensus that this development model eventually failed the country"

Jaishankar highlighted a 'vigorous course correction' since 2014 but noted challenges in overcoming entrenched systems. Jaishankar concluded by urging reforms driven by trust, resiliency, and reliability in an era of 'weaponized economics'.
