The oil filter adapter bracket gasket is a common oil leak source on many GM 3.5 and 3.9L engines made between 2006 and ’09. This video provides some useful tips for the home mechanic attempting to replace this gasket along with the oil pressure switch mounted on the same adapter. Shown is an ’06 Chevrolet Impala. The same 3.5 or similar 3.9L engine was also used on ’07-’09 Monte Carlo, ‘07-‘10 Malibu, ‘07-‘09 Saturn Aura, ‘07-‘09 Pontiac G6 and ‘08-‘09 Saturn Vue.
