“Park Circus”- a place that creates an image of Mystery, Misdeed and Misconception in the minds of many Kolkatians. But this same Park Circus is essentially the Muse and Protagonist of Basu’s new musical narrative. As a nomadic singer, he roams around the hideaways and clumsy streets of Park Circus, encounters various individuals and fabricates a tale of fantasy and fidelity.

It starts with an entrancing prologue- a poetic representation of the artist’s inner thoughts, which evokes thrills from the very first line. The audience are taken to an unusual journey through Basu’s ruminative monologue along the bowels of Park Circus vicinity.

It may seem a humble tale of the lives and chores of Park Circus populace; but it reflects the memories and inspirations the place gave over years to shape and stir Basu’s career in Music.

An array of locations and references are aptly complimented with synchronized cinematography of DOP’s skilled vision and gestures. These places are referred by Basu as “Amar Park Circus”, which show his tremendous attachment and gratitude for the area. Sketches of several Park Circus elements are featured through engaging lyrics and musical expertise.

“Park circus Blues” is not a just song, it is a whole experience that Maharaj Basu intends to take every audience along, through a pensive chronicle which they cannot ignore. At a point you will be bound to think hard and consider a rewatch to get to bottom of the rabbit hole.
