The song was originally written for the musical film Sun Valley Serenade (1941), written by Mack Gordon and Harry Warren . It was recorded by Glenn Miller and his orchestra, sung by actors John Payne and Lynn Bari, but the vocal version was deleted from the movie. It was again used for the movie Orchestra Wives, this time sung by actors Ray Eberle and Lynn Bari. An instrumental version was released by Glenn Miller in 1942, reaching number two on the US Billboard pop music chart. In 1960, Riley Hampton improvised a vocal version of the song for Etta James for her debut album with the same title, and it became one of her iconic and signature songs.

Celine Dion also recorded the song in 2002 for the album A New Day Has Come, and was critically acclaimed. This song is one of the favorites in weddings. I'm not too sure about my chords, but it works for me.
