Over Lava Stones and Koi Pond | Hawaii Residence and Office Hut

Hawaii Residence is composed of several pavilions integrated into the lush tropical landscape. The residence balances refuge and expansive ocean views. The living areas are located on the upper floors, while the ground floor uses lava stone to visually anchor the structure to the volcanic terrain. The house also incorporates movable wooden louvres and operable roof panels, allowing for natural ventilation and shading, adapting to the tropical climate and encouraging a connection between indoor and outdoor spaces. The Office Hut, added later, is a small cabin overlooking a fish pond surrounded by trees. The cabin, clad in red cedar, features a transparent glass wall with views of a Japanese garden and koi pond.
