Lynn Gehl, a member of the Indigenous Famous Six, was part of a group of women who fought the sex discrimination found in the Indian Act. Gehl won her 23-year legal challenge but do current laws allow Indigenous people to reclaim their status and cultural identity? Gehl (https://www.lynngehl.com) is an advocate and artist, with a Ph.D in Indigenous Studies, and defendant in the landmark case Gehl v. Canada.
