This MTG Arena Edge of Eternities draft was a wild ride that started off feeling completely directionless. We opened with Thrumming Hivepool, an incredibly strong card, but being colorless meant it didn’t give us much guidance for what colors to draft next. We even passed on a tempting Biomechan Engineer to avoid locking into Green and Blue from the very first pick. The early packs didn’t help much either, as we bounced between colors—dabbling in Black, Red, White, and Green—while searching for an open lane that would set us up for success.

It wasn’t until the start of Pack 2 that things started to click. We began locking in Black and Red, and the Rakdos lane revealed itself to be wide open. That realization was sealed when we were passed Mutinous Massacre, a game-ending powerhouse that gave our deck a devastating top end. From there, we leaned hard into aggressive plays and removal-heavy strategy, making this draft a perfect example of staying open, adapting, and finding your colors late for maximum payoff.

This draft is packed with lessons in reading signals, high-stakes decision-making, and the thrill of picking up bombs like Mutinous Massacre.
